    The Job


    This position requires a talented, driven and entrepreneurial specialist to help us profitably grow one of our high-growth categories. In this role, you will work with internal cross-functional teams to advance the branded currency category’s business agenda. You will have true ownership over a large group of gift card & pre-paid providers for our E-commerce International department that have a material impact to the business.


    You will negotiate favourable business terms promotional or otherwise and seek alternative product sourcing strategies to drive better product economics, develop and manage ecommerce merchant relationships, drive results and own the business/financial analytics for your merchants.  You will be a self-starter with passion and a creative problem solver. You will be responsible for developing our optimal gift card assortment through a combination of data analytics and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and interests.  You will determine what our offering should look like, build the plan and execute on the work across multiple catalogues & multiple customers. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Operations, and Marketing to deliver on your plan, playing a critical role in the development of our ecommerce business. The position will report to the Senior Manager, E-Commerce International.

    Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

    Main duties & responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute a robust strategy with a strong focus on developing our target pipeline in line with overall E-Commerce goals.
    • Negotiate with and onboard Merchants on target list.
    • Research latest trends & advance catalogue expansion, including the identification of selection gaps and identify suitable partners (.com, brick & mortar, & catalog etc.) companies who should join our organization.
    • Interface with Clients and Customer Success Managers to ensure that the requirements of clients are managed during implementations and during the on-going life of programs, as needed.
    • Build client merchant strategies based on gap analysis and pipeline requests, against an agreed timeline & consistently meet targets.
    • Analyze data to strategize profit growth opportunities for the category and merchants.
    • Hold a high volume of negotiations with existing merchants covering areas such as pricing, advertising programs, promotions & market opportunities.
    • Collaborate across departments to drive category goals in areas such as inventory planning, advertising & promotions, site merchandising & customer service.
    • Serve as internal expert on our offering in “Branded Currency”, industry trends, and ways to stay ahead of the competition.
    • Ensure that our E-commerce sites are kept interesting and relevant to today’s trends and marketplace with the aim of maintaining Globoforce as the most innovative and successful in our industry                                                                                                  

    Required skills and experience:

    • 3 years in E-commerce, retail merchandising or business setting with related experience.
    • Knowledge of the gift card, stored value/branded currency market is a distinct advantage.
    • Excellent On trend knowledge of E-Commerce & technology.
    • Strong desire to produce and execute against an array of initiatives.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent knowledge and use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.                                           
    • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
    • Professional, bright, and customer-focused.                                                                        
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.                                                          
    • High fluency in English or English as a first language.                                                          
    • Sense of humour/great attitude              
    • Ability to work on one's own initiative.
    • Ability to demonstrate a creative approach when problem solving.
    • Demonstrated capacity for developing and understanding strategy.
    • Broad understanding of web technologies and online product distribution
