We’re looking for a strategic global event superstar to build a world-class Event Management function.

    The VP of Global Events will be responsible the strategic development, implementation and day-to-day management of our portfolio of events, both for affinity groups and mass audiences, as well as outside events with key partners. In addition, the VP Global Events will partner closely with the Sales, Product and Customer Success teams to drive business value and create valuable experiences for customers and prospects.


    This position reports to the CMO, closely partnering with Creative, Content, Demand Generation and Sales teams.

    Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

    • Oversee all aspects of production for events ranging in scale from affinity events to medium to large-scale experiential events, including: project management, budget management, programming logistics, site planning, vendor negotiations, flawless execution day of event, and post-event analysis and reporting.
    • Working with the Creative Services team, conceptualize new event experiences, strategies and tactics to maximize company exposure, generate awareness and thought leadership, and produce sales leads.
    • Strategic thinker who has the ability to look across our portfolio of events to see the “bigger picture” and devise and execute novel strategies that drive business results.
    • Identify and help secure event sponsorships, as well as in-kind and media sponsorships, to raise sponsorship revenue for the event portfolio/covering event costs and generating new revenue.
    • Develop and manage all sponsorship packages for each event, including benefits, recognition and value.
    • Manage multiple external vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and logistics.
    • Set event ROI goals and measure achievement of goals. Provide post-event feedback and post mortems to senior management.
    • Manage functional or department budgets and execute events within budgets
    • Work with Sales to create and manage strategic partnerships, furthering impact and building long-term engagement and revenue streams.
    • Manage and maintain the vision for the Globoforce brand, ensuring brand consistency across all event platforms.
    • Partner with key members of the Marketing, Communications, Product and Sales/Customer Success teams to ensure successful integration of product, brand and messaging.
    • Set and lead event strategies, design, policies, standards, direction, training and goals.

    Requirements & Qualifications:

    • Minimum 15+ years of experience in Event Execution and Design with 6 years of people management responsibilities
    • Experience developing innovative experiential and cause-marketing plans that enhance and build consumer relationships and brand loyalty.
    • Proven track record in planning successful events, acquiring event sponsorships or similar business development.
    • Tactful and diplomatic - the ability to interact with all levels of the company top to bottom, including most senior company, customer, and partner management.
    • Professional, with grace under fire.
    • Passion for coaching, empowering and inspiring a team; deep focus in supporting employee professional development
    • Creative and passionate about event planning.
    • A problem solver, able to deal with ambiguity and quick changes of direction as needed.
    • Well-developed analytic skills, linking event plans and activities to business results - measurement, Return on Investment (ROI).
    • Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-profile events involving senior management.
    • Advanced knowledge of trade show and events strategies, tactics and modern best practices.
    • Proven experience managing, leading, driving and measuring direct and virtual teams toward common goals.
    • Agency and budget management.
    • An impressive network of industry professionals and relationships that demonstrate your commitment to excellence and positive collaboration.
