    Globoforce is seeking a Manager, NLP Analytics to join our WorkHuman Analytics & Research Institute as a domain expert.  This role focuses on analyzing unstructured data for over 37 million workplace recognition moments. This person is expected to become an expert in uncovering insights hidden in recognition moments across dozens of countries for our customers, the industry and our company. 

    You will apply cutting-edge NLP approaches to an enormous variety of problems across several industries.  For example, you will build NLP models to accomplish outcomes such as rating sentiment, uncovering hidden bias, identify meaning behind recognition moments, and identify semantic patterns that lead to workplace outcomes (e.g., reduced turnover, increased productivity, etc).

    Your work will be project-oriented and you will often be responsible for the entire analytical process – from outlining the type of solution through implementation, interpretation of results and transferring capabilities to colleagues, clients and internal product teams.  You will constructively discuss your findings while always looking for the best solution.

    Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

    • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
    • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
    • Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
    • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
    • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
    • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
    • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and ongoing tracking of model performance

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with speech and/or language data
    • Expertise in building ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic relation frameworks
    • Experience in one or more major European languages
    • Proficiency in scripting, querying and/or analytics tools: linux, R, SAS, or similar tool
    • Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
    • Comfortable handling a high volume of work on a daily basis
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
    • Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept reprioritization as necessary
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Exceptional level of organization
    • Experience taking a lead role on large, fast-moving projects
    • Strong technical and analytical aptitude
    • Experience with language annotation and other forms of data markup
    • Experience with process design and documentation
    • Experience communicating research findings and analysis in both written and spoken channels
    • Master’s or PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Computer-Mediated Communication, Language Psychology, etc.
