    The Job

    Globoforce is looking for a Systems Architect to join the System Architecture team. You will be providing technical solutions to meet the business requirements for our internal Operations department (Fulfillment, Finance, Purchasing etc.).

    You will be responsible for the overall solution design and have the ability to understand systems infrastructure, available technologies and development resource requirements.

    You will already have worked on significant Integration projects for internal systems (Linux and Windows) as well as external integrations.


    Here’s just some of what you will be doing;

    • Analysing business requirements with our Operations teams, to assess their feasibility, proposing technical solution options and describing system impacts
    • Performing high-level design based on business requirements
    • Working with agile delivery teams to evolve the design through to implementation
    • Working with Globoforce’s infrastructure, engineering and devops teams, to build scalable and robust systems, for on-premise and cloud infrastructures
    • Guiding our delivery teams through the performance, reliability, scalability, security and deployment needs of the product or feature
    • Where necessary, guiding the team on new technology and framework decisions
    • Designing solution architectures that incorporate the organization’s long term architectural strategy
    • Support the quality assurance team to design integration and functional tests
    • Participating in release and sprint planning.

    Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

    Skills and Experience:

    • Must have extensive experience as a Developer (Java) with recent experience in a Senior Technical Software Architect position
    • Ability to design review both Java and C# .Net solutions delivered by the team
    • Proven experience building and deploying Systems on Linux and Windows
    • Experience with enterprise integration frameworks and technologies – ESBs, messaging etc.
    • Experience of integration solutions that span multiple internal and external systems (Familiarity with EIP)
    • Strong RDBMS application development experience
    • Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor experience is a particular advantage (however any ERP system is fine)
    • Technical leadership experience; mentoring engineers and performing code/design reviews
    • Prior experience designing and supporting Windows Services and IIS Modules (desirable)
    • Experience of Application profiling and performance testing
    • Experience of Agile/Scrum techniques e.g. user stories, iterative development.


    Education and Qualifications:

    • Third level degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
