The Job

The Associate Application Engineer will provide application support and configuration for the applications and technologies which the group support. These include Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, OnGuard and associated technologies. They will be the second-level support for the applications we support, working with each specialist Application Engineer in their area.

 

They will work with our specialist Application Engineers and our Principal Engineer, to assist in the delivery of identified and agreed projects and functionality. Working with the Global Business Systems team and functions, they will leverage functionality within our applications and associated technologies, to support Global Operations and Finance in providing best-in class service

Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

Main Duties & responsibilities:

  • Act as a contact for all second-level support queries.
  • Work collaboratively with the Application Engineers and users to understand requirements.
  • Deliver solutions which meet identified requirements and business needs, supporting the development in association with the Application Engineer and Principal Application Engineer.
  • Support the development and identify opportunities within the applications we support to meet internal and external user requirements and to improve the customer experience and drive efficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior managers of functions and GBSG, to produce reports and dashboards that support operational efficiency and intelligence.
  • Work with consultants and the Principal Application Engineer to further develop our solution design and technical knowledge base.
  • Work with GBSG team and consultants to research and evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations relating to technology adoption
  • Providing support and knowledge to other IT functions about our application environments.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or Epicor is preferential, both configuration and BI.
  • Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and opportunities
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills to resolve issues.
  • Must be able to take strategic direction from senior management and participate in strategic planning activities.
  • Microsoft office applications
  • PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Must be able to see tasks through to completion
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities

Education and Qualifications:

  • Business experience or qualification
  • 3rd Level programming/ engineering/computer science
