The Job



The Job 


Globoforce are seeking to expand their existing Systems Infrastructure team through the recruitment of an experienced Network Engineer. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, the successful applicant will provide networking support, with particular focus on architecture, design, troubleshooting and security. The role is responsible for administering a highly-available infrastructure in support of large-scale production and non-production environments.  



Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Daily administration of the LAN and WAN including system stability, integrity, and troubleshooting 
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions including Remote Access, VPN, Firewall, IDS, and security management applications. 
  • Perform all hardware and software upgrades to network appliances 
  • Identify and track network vulnerability and ensure the appropriate containment and/or remediation are invoked 
  • Conduct growth analysis and capacity planning for all network related items – installing related hardware and software as assigned 
  • Creating and implementing monitoring, policies, procedures and standards relating to service availability and network security 
  • Working with development teams to design and support new solutions in and Agile environment 
  • Participate in 24/7 on call rotation 
  • Some travel may be required 



Required Skills and Experience 


  • Possess an in-depth understanding of networking fundamentals, architectures with design and implementation experience 
  • Strong understanding of common network services and protocols  
  • Experience with day-to-day managed firewall administration 
  • Experience with day-to-day campus LAN administration 
  • Experience implementing and supporting HA solutions 
  • Expert knowledge of VPN solutions, configuration and troubleshooting 
  • Extensive experience with Datacenter, Cloud and Campus network architectures 
  • Experience with ADC solutions 
  • Expert knowledge of Network Access Control and 802.1x implementations 
  • Knowledge of IPS/IDS and network security monitoring (NSM) 
  • Experience and knowledge of working to industry security standards PCI DSS, ISO27001 etc. 
  • Check Point Firewall experience desirable 
  • Dell Networking Power Connect/Force 10 experience desirable 
  • F5 Big-IP experience desirable 
  • Aruba WAP experience desirable 
  • Amazon AWS experience desirable 
  • Track record of successful technical project execution 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role 


Education and Qualifications 


  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering 
  • At least one professional networking certification e.g. Cisco CCNP, Check Point CCSA JNCIP-ENT etc. 
  • Additional Firewall/Security/Public Cloud certifications desirable
