The Job

Overview of the role:

 

  • This is an Automation role. You will join a highly experienced and supportive QA team, responsible for developing test strategy and test cases as part of the Globoforce product development team.

Technical Stack:

  • Selenium WebDriver, Perfecto Mobile/Device Anywhere, JMeter, JUnit, Mockito, Fitnesse, DBFit, TestNG, UNIX & Linux, Web Services and Java, Oracle.

Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

About your role:

  • You will work with our Agile teams including Development/ Product/ UX/UI/ Support/DevOps etc on our award-winning social recognition products.

Here's just some of what you will be doing;

  • Developing test strategy and test cases as part of a product development team.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain automation framework and framework enhancements.
  • Investigate and apply tools to the current test framework. (TestNG).
  • Develop and maintain Automated test scripts for Functional & Non-Functional scenarios.
  • Trace exceptions in test failures using debugging and Linux server logs.
  • Work very closely with QAs and developers to review functional automation test coverage to ensure QA goals are met.
  • Log and take ownership of defects found, produce reports, analysis and trends of the defects found per team.
  • Communicate test results, metrics and risk assessments to the project stakeholders.
  • Constantly review/suggest new approaches in measuring code test coverage.
  • Maintain existing and create new Test Cases in test repository.
  • Be self-motivated and manage time spend across work day to creating new features, updating old features, investigating failing tests and server deployment issues.
  • Participate in major release regression activities.

Required Skills and experience:

  • 6+ years’ experience testing in an Agile environment.
  • Strong Automation experience is essential, on at least some of the following: Selenium WebDriver, TestNG Perfecto Mobile/Device Anywhere, JMeter, etc.
  • Strong experience in either browser or server side test automation. 
  • Expertise with JUnit, Mockito, Unirest, Rest-Assured, SOAP UI, Git
  • Functional, integration and web services testing. 
  • Solid experience developing and executing automated test suites.
  • Understanding how XML and JSON work.
  • Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages; Java, C# or JS.  
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Linux. 
  • Have worked with Continuous Integration, Jenkins and TeamCity. 

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following behaviours;

 

  • Ability to work with a remote team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing, by phone, and in person with other teams.
  • Ability to help launch new projects and follow through to completion.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • ISTQB Certification in automation is advantage.
